OFFER Game Gear Bundle [USA / In stock]

A contender in the portable video game wars about a decade ago, the Sega Game Gear featured a back-lit 3.2" LCD screen which put the darkly un-lit Gameboy to shame. Despite the Gear's obvious screen advantage, Nintendo's marketing machine and legions of camped software developers steamrolled all opposition until only the Gameboy remained standing. Some other fatalities from the past included the Atari Lynx, Turbo-Express, and regrettably, the Neo Geo Pocket. Dominant for a decade, Nintendo continues to lord the land to this day by way of GBA.
Majesco licensed Sega's dormant technology a few years back to manufacture consoles and portables as they see fit. Every once in a while we get some of this stock. Our offer for today follows.
Game Gear Bundle. Includes the Game Gear handheld and the following 10 games: Aladdin, Caesar's Palace, Deep Duck Trouble, Jungle Book, Lion King, Ms Pac Man, Pac Man, Sonic 2, Sonic Chaos, and Super Battle Tank. All this gear (and admittedly ancient portable gaming) for a fee of US$85 + shipping.

NEWS Assorted Updates, Blurbs, and Tangents

  • Prices in the Neo Geo MVS market are stable. Some of the higher priced carts are under slight pressure but the Japanese market in general remains as it was a year ago. Recent vendor trade prices for some MVS bare carts include KOF 2000 (US$140), Prehistoric Isle 2 (US$125), Nightmare in the Dark (US$120), Metal Slug 3 (US$140), and Shock Troopers 2 (US$65). A spate of MVS to AES hacks (conversions) among Japanese groups for the Garou MOTW game recently caused a price increase but the game is sold out among a number of our arcade trading houses.

  • NCS no longer actively solicits Sega Model 2 & 3, ST-V, or Naomi kits any more but to give customers a general idea of prices, here are some trade prices (what vendors pay) for used kits. This information is provided on the back of recent interest in arcade products, which we no longer actively pursue but still dabble in. These are not for sale. This is just information for you to use if you're interested in researching prices or when haggling with NCS when we return to the coin-op sales arena...someday.
