Hits Moon Cresta
[Published
by Hamster / $20]
It
don't get more old school than this. Back in the day (1980),
Nichibutsu blasted out a shooter in the style of Galaxian
but with a twist. Instead of a simple ship, the possibility
of using a three-stage vessel helped shooter nuts to rid the
cosmos of alien marauders. The ability to dock onto larger
segments gave players the ability to build a veritable
killing machine. The original and an updated version are
included herein.

Gatchaman
[Published
by Bandai / $25]
The
full name is "Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman: the
Shooting" but in the USA, we know it as Battle of the
Planets. Essentially a 2-D vertical shooter, the Gatchaman
crew fly through various stages and shoot all oncoming enemy
ships. For a budget priced release, the graphics are well
done with a clean, cartoon-ish style.
