DC: Castle Fantasia ~ Seima Taisen    JPN     US$80    BUY
According to the premise of Castle Fantasia, war is hell but a general should still take time out for some good lovin' and romance. As the male protagonist in Castle Fantasia, you visit different cities to recruit female warriors who fight on your behalf. Ethics aside, the aim of the game is to win battles and win the affection of the girls in your army. Battles are fought on grid-overlaid settings where opposing sides face off. When an enemy is defeated, it will drop a heart which powers up the level of your female warriors. During the course of the game, heroic actions and interaction with the girls help to increase or decrease their level of attraction to you. The limited edition of CF includes a desktop clock and a telephone card, with a production quantity of 20,000 units.

PS2: I Am Small    JPN     US$60    BUY
Hurtling to Earth from the ether of outer space, a tiny spaceman measuring no more than 5cm tall joins the lives of a normal family. Adopted by the household, the miniscule alien engages in episodes and misadventures with members of the family. Its munchkin-like size allows for a unique perspective of the world and turns mundane scenarios and encounters into epic adventures in the big house. Each family member enters little dramas and interesting situations in which the spaceman aids and abets. Although small in this brave new world, our cosmic mite wields mighty abilities including super strength, an antenna to tap into conversations, time travel skills and the power of flight. Use these and other special abilities to help complete each level. In one scenario, the small alien helps the daughter of the house prepare a meal, heretofore frightening to other family members. For once, help her make a palatable meal that everyone can enjoy. Many of the other scenarios include similar left of center themes. Played entirely in a 3-D action setting, I Am Small succeeds as one of those quirky games with charming style.

PS2: Japan Sumo Association    JPN     US$60    BUY
The way of sumo is called sumodo, echoing bushido, the way of the samurai. Far from fat men in big thongs with big breasts, sumotori are highly trained, muscular men who practice the sport of sumo. It's hardly wrestling or the comic shenanigans of the WWE as we have seen described elsewhere. The gist of sumo pits two men against each other in a clay ring. With deft slaps, pushes, and grappling, the aim is to push any part of the opponent's body (except the feet) outside the ring. If a opponent is a light-weight, he may be lifted out of the ring by the straps of his mawashi. Konami captures the spirit and action of sumo with a licensed game which features action-packed grappling, technique, and the ability to break free of certain holds with joystick mangling moves. Forty professional sumo are featured in the game including former and current yokozuna, sumo who have reached the highest level of the sport. As each match begins, an entrance ceremony commences with the name of the sumo being called out by an announcer, applause from the crowd and all the pomp and circumstance one would expect from a big match.
