The "First Limited Edition" of Genso Suikoden 3
mentioned in Monday's update does not refer to the www.konamistyle.com
exclusive GS3 (Look to your left for this item) but to the first
production run of the game which ships in a
"limited" DVD case. Publishers occasionally
include bonuses to early buyers of games. NCS will ask our
vendors in Japan to try and special-order the actual GS3 LE
from Konami directly since it is not distributed outside of
konamistyle.com. If we're able to import the limited
edition, we'll update accordingly.

NCS received a Gameboy Advance TV tuner for review a
few days ago from an Asian manufacturer. The tuner snaps in
back of your GBA and works reasonably well but an
Afterburner mod does wonders for the viewing quality. In
addition to working as a TV tuner, AV inputs are located on
the bottom of the unit which accept video from any source.
In our testing, Gamecube titles such as Luigi's Mansion and
Wave Race were surprisingly crisp on the GBA screen as were
Playstation 2 games such as Tekken 4. A DVD we tested (The
Patriot) also displayed well on the small screen. Some other
features of the tuner are built-in speakers, a 68cm
telescoping antenna, and the ability to store up to 99
channels. If the regulation-issue antenna fails to pull in
broadcast signals in your area, a separate antenna input
jack allows a pair of rabbit ears to be plugged into the
unit for better reception. NCS has not decided if we will
supply this product but we'll test it further for a few days
and make a judgement call at that time. Overall, the tuner
does it's job but we have some reservations about the build
quality and the cost per unit.
