TOY: Domokun Plushes   BUY
After a bit of a delay, Domokun in a couple of shapes and different sizes finally makes his way to market. Manufactured by Bandai under the official sanction of NHK, the plushes are of very good quality with soft "fur" and well-formed "Domokun-ness." We relented on the 4' Domokun plush which was priced at about US$1000 but we were foolhardy enough to bring in the 29" version which is priced at US$200. Shipping cost per was about $80 and each one is packed it's own oversize shipping container... Enjoy the pictures: [Cushions] ° [Plushes]

TOY: Love Hina Summer Festival Figures   BUY
Episode 18 of the Love Hina anime starts with Aunt Haruka dispensing salary to members of the Hinata-sou household who had helped at the Hinata Beach Tea House. With the summer festival that night, the money would serve handily. The girls get into various yukata (summer kimono) and enjoy the festival with shooting games, food, a ghost house, and fireworks. The latest Sega Toys Love Hina figures feature Shinobu, Naru and....Mutsumi, who does not appear in the episode. [Photos

TOY: Sakura Taisen Keychains  BUY
Released a few weeks ago (June 2002), Sega's new collection of Sakura Taisen 2 keychains feature artfully painted figures. A pedestal is included with each keychain in the event that you'd rather display the figure rather than bind keys. The characters from the top left and going clockwise are: Kanna Kirishima, Ri Kouran, Kaede Fujieda, Sakura Shinguuji, and Leni Milchstrasse.
Kanna, Ri, Sakura, hail from the original Sakura game while Leni made her first appearance in Sakura Taisen 2. Kaede also replaced her sister Ayame's place as second in command after she died. [

TOY: Transformers Collection  BUY
Continuing with the mass of re-releases this year, Takara reissues [Master] and [Prowl] in the Transformers Collection of action figures. Each box includes a five-page photo and data spread which examines the robot, looks at other toys released earlier in the year and a fold-out poster. The toy itself is housed inside a windowed compartment so you can look but not touch (for those squeamish collectors out there).

ETC: Assorted Updates

Datel's Freeloader, originally slated to ship this week has been postponed (surprise) to the second week of August.

Capcom nailed down a new ship date for Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper a couple of days ago. Apparently, the game ships on September 27, 2002. NCS originally opened the game for preorders on October 02, 2001.

We'll post some photos of the Murakumo book tomorrow, after many wrote in about it. It's a neat little bonus but unfortunate that it was doled out in such small quantities.
