XBX: Tekki w/ Controller  JPN  US$270  PRESOLD OUT 
   NCS will process and ship preorders for Tekki with Controller today but please note that the price has been revised upwards to US$270 from the original rate of US$255. The Express shipping costs per unit were simply more than we anticipated. We were hoping to split the shipping costs over other products but our supplier shipped Tekki by itself since each game is packaged in it's own carton. 1 game = 1 carton, sort of like the Domokun Huge Plush. In any case, the game box is relatively massive, measuring 20 x 14 x 15" and is colored a fatigue green and made to look like an army chest. The front of the box is labeled P.R.F.ARMY with "Tekki" written in Japan on the left of the box. Two warning stickers also tape the top of the box down with the warning of "Do not open panel unless authorized maintenance!" 
   All in all, a gimmicky package, an impressive controller that looks like it can do some serious damage, and a game that we'll have to delve into over the weekend. Each package weighs 21lbs and we will recommend shipping with UPS GROUND only due to the dimensional size of the packaging. Due to the price increase, NCS will re-confirm with customers by email today to verify their orders.

TOYS: Valkyries from Bandai
   Ichijo Hikaru, aka Rick Hunter, flies through the heavens in his VF-1S Super Valkyrie. Shrunk to 1/55 scale in this Bandai reproduction toy, an assortment of accessories such as missiles, jet boosters, armor accessories, and a gun are included in the packaging for playing and posturing. The armor pieces may be "bolted" onto the Valkyrie for the semblance of added protection. Similar to Yamato Valkyries, die-cast metal and plastic parts are used for the construction of the toy. As usual, the Super Valkyrie transforms between robot to gerwalk to battroid. This Valkyrie was originally released 20 years ago during the heyday of the Macross franchise. [BUY]  
   Again, Macross prodigy Ichijo Hikaru jets and battles the Zentraedi in a VF-1A Valkyrie decorated with red trim and the Skull & Crossbones insignia. Analogous to the Valkyrie above, this reproduction toy goes with 1/55 scale and is made of both die-cast metal and plastic parts. Note that unlike the original Bandai toy, painted features decorate the toy rather than decals. All stock arrived in excellent condition absent of dings, dents, and other surface damage on the containers. This Valkyrie was originally released 20 years ago during the heyday of the Macross franchise.  [BUY]
 

 

 
ETC: "Oh %$&@#... What Do You Mean It's Not Here?"
   Due to Friday 13th, the week of Sept. 11, Murphy's Law, and other things that go wrong when you least expect them to, our shipments of Phantasy Star Online Episode 1+2 are now slated to arrive on Monday, September 16. Our commenting further on this subject won't speed up the shipment but believe us when we say, "We understand your pain." 
   Konami opened up vendor preorders for PS2 Pop 'n Music 7 earlier this week with a ship date of November 21. Pricing is set at Y6800. Bandai will also ship Inuyasha ~ Kagome no Nituki for the Wonderswan on November 16 with a retail price of Y4500. Namuko Super Wars from Bandai also ships for the WSC on October 31. 
   NCS will offer Nintendo refurbished Gamecube consoles [USA] next week at US$175 for modified consoles which include a second controller from Interact. These units are cosmetically new and fully tested by Nintendo but ship in a white cardboard container with 1 standard joypad and connecting cables inside. We are unable to purchase new Gamecubes at this time so we will offer these refurbs for the time being. 

   Ikaruga restock is expected on Monday morning along with the Mega-Hits re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2 and the Japanese DVD Documentary of Metal Gear Solid 2.
