NEWS: Sony Head Mount Display  JPN  $550  PREORDER  

   The latest in viewing gadgetry, Sony's PS2 Head Mount Display sports a pair of 0.44" 1.8 million pixel LCD screens affixed to goggles and themselves attached to a pair of headphones. According to the literature, the LCDs give the illusion of peering into a 42" television screen at a range of 2 meters. To enhance gameplay, (only Energy Airforce supports the HMD so far) the display tracks the viewer's head movements and adjusts images accordingly in a thrilling "tracking function." In addition to PS2 usability, DVD players may be connected to the HMD for immersive screenings of movies. Weighing a relatively airy 12 ounces, the Head Mount Display is valued at Y62000 or US$550 from NCS. Preorders are welcome via email request.
