In
the year 2000, Angels from outer space visited Earth and
destroyed the polar ice cap, washing the continents in water
and killing half of the world's population. Scrambling to
set up a defense force against these marauding aliens,
Project NERV was created to produce an anti-Angel. A weapon
that would be capable of fighting back and neutralizing the
threat of the Angels. The fruits of NERV's labor would be
Evangelion, humanoid creatures controlled by children who
would sync with them to create a bond and work together as a
cohesive fighting unit.

After a grueling day of fighting Angels, Asuka Langley,
Misato Katsuragi, and Rei Ayanami relax in their respective
bathtubs filled with water and in Misato's case, a large bar
of soap. Note that Misato grasps a beverage when she's in
her tub. Each figure measures 12cm in length and pricing is
expected at $10 each.

Released earlier this year with a black base, Sega Toys
re-issues the Evangelion musical toys in a power-blue
colored pedestal variant. A third figure (center) featuring
a floating Rei in a one-piece swimsuit is new. Measurements
for the two standard toys are 14cm while the new Rei stands
18cm tall, pricing at US$15 each.
