PS2: Ingot 79  JPN  US$60  BUY
Known as AU on the periodic table, element 79 stands for gold. The glittery metal has served as the basis of wealth for centuries (until fractional reserve banking and credit made gold moot.) Still, gold holds a certain allure at the bid of US$324/oz and treasure hunters in Ingot 79 embark on expeditions to mine for the precious metal. Each player starts the game with a hefty bankroll for travel expenses, machinery, and crew. Endeavor to reach rich veins of ore before your competitors, stake your claim and leech the gold from the earth.

Contra Advance

GBA: Contra Advance: Hard Spirits  JPN  US$43  BUY
A remake of the SNES Contra game which includes two levels from Contra Hard Corps but only one weapon may be hefted at a time and the screen clearing mega-bomb of yore is no longer at your disposal. The rotation and scaling effects from the original are retained with gameplay that runs a tad easier than the SNES version. Please note that the USA version of this game was released last week but the cover artwork on the Japanese edition shows a bigger, more menacing death skull... That's gotta count for something.

Zelda no Densetsu

NEWS: Zelda Madness  JPN
News of the Zelda no Densetsu bonus disk has spread rabidly...or was that rapidly? We confuse the two. For the three of you still in the dark, Nintendo will gift customers who preorder Gamecube Zelda in Japan with a second disc which includes a 1:1 port of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the heretofore unreleased Ura-Zelda. The offer appears to be only applicable for preorders made with Japanese retail chains such as Laox, Sofmap, etc. As such, we cannot make any guarantees that we will receive the bonus disk with any of our preorders from any of our vendors. If we hear any news otherwise, we will update accordingly.
One of our suppliers gave the total number of bonus disc bundles at a largish 128,000 units which is somewhat hopeful for fair allocation of the bonus to retail chains as well as distributors. However, please be aware that supplies of bonus items are normally given out to retail chains only and distributors are allocated a miniscule amount, if at all.
The volume of email received thus far concerning the bonus disc has been unsettling. Everything we know has been posted here and any new information will be posted up with the quickness. Thank you.
