Chobits ~ Sumomo
ETC: Two 2003 Toy Previews  JPN 

   Konami announced a 15cm (5.9" and possibly her actual height) Sumomo action figure which ships in January 2003. Hailing from the Chobits animation series, Sumomo is an elfin-like mobile persocon who helps her master Shinbo as well as Hideki and Chii throughout the Chobits episodes. In addition to her rotating arms and a head that swivels, Sumomo's pink ponytail also wags. NCS expects pricing per unit at US$20. 

   A new series of Dragon Quest bottlecaps are in the works from Enix. Expected to ship in February 2003, the figures atop each cap are fully painted unlike the "gold" versions which NCS stocked a few years ago. Thirty monsters and two secret beasts comprise the new set. Pricing is expected to be US$2 per cap but we'll post additional updates soon.
 

 

 

Gigantic Drive
NEWS: Updates   

   All new import shipments are now expected tomorrow morning. A small supply of Panasonic Qubes may also arrive tomorrow - these were the source of our FDA inspection woes 2 weeks ago - it will be miraculous if they actually do get delivered on Thursday. A new Gameboy Advance game titled Kinnikuman 2 will also ship to preorders tomorrow.
   NCS expects PS2 Gigantic Drive restock tomorrow along with GC Component Cables and late shipments of GC Mario Party 4 [JPN]. A new selection of Gameboy Advance screen covers were released in Japan this week and we'll post photos of the new types on Thursday morning. The new GBA covers will be available in Black, Milky Blue, and Pink.
   GC Silver Wavebird controllers and Emerald joypads are expected next week. We'll post photos and an update once they arrive. Silver Gamecube consoles were released in Japan a few days ago and we're still mulling over whether to import them or not. After all, platinum USA GCs are still readily available despite their limited edition stature.
   Additional shipments of the new Yamato 1/48 scale VF-1A Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo) version arrived and any remaining preorders will ship today. The Roy Fokker version of the 1/48 scale VF-1A is expected in February 2003. Yamato also plans production of two Macross VF-1J Super Valkyrie toys at 1/60 scale in January 2003. The two variants will feature Milia and Max markings to distinguish them.
   Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire for the Japanese Gamecube Advance are in stock again. Any pending backorders will ship today.
