When
NCS took preorders for the Japanese Xbox edition of DOAXVB
last year, our suppliers listed the price at Y6800. Tecmo
delayed the game and bumped the price to Y7800. As such, NCS
is raising the price of the game to US$75 from US$60 today
but...
Adding insult to injury of the higher price, only half of our
preorders for the game will include the photobook and
poster. For example, order 500 pieces of the DOAXVB game and
we will receive 250 photobooks, rendering the remaining 250
pieces difficult to sell and in our eyes, dead weight. Due
to the botching, we are interested in canceling our entire
order for this game before it ships tonight (we were given
the opportunity overnight due to the radical change in
preorder terms.) The USA version will be available this week
at US$49 and the photobook was really the only advantage in
purchasing the import but we're not so sure the bonuses are
worth a US$26 premium.
In any case, we are giving our customers a chance to keep their
preorders if they wish but know that we are unable to fill
all prebooks as originally planned with the photobook. There
is no difference in cost from suppliers for the game with or
without the photobook so we're getting somewhat "shafted"
here. We will take a sizable percentage loss on each copy of
DOAXVB without photobook and sell it for US$53 if we proceed
with the importation.
Feedback is
appreciated. If we receive enough cancellations
today, we'll cancel our preorder completely. If we receive a
surfeit of affirmations, we will then work out the situation
as efficiently and fairly as possible although there will be
inevitable disappointments. |
