We'll preface our Freeloader update with
a disclaimer and it goes like this:
Regardless of the update below, Datel may postpone
shipment. That is all.
Earlier this morning, a reliable
old-school supplier in the UK gave fair warning that our
6-month delayed shipment of Freeloaders would ship on Monday
of next week. Of course, we were somewhat skeptical given
the numerous delays of the product but we'll suspend
disbelief for a few days since a drought cannot endure
forever. Hope springs eternal. Apparently, Datel sales
representatives are calling distributors today to notify
them of imminent Freeloader shipments and to prepare for the
sales boom. |

Turning away from the UK and
facing Japan, we hear news of Enix's cancellation of the
limited edition of PS2 Star Ocean ~ Till the End of Time. In
it's place, an exclusive 7-11 version which includes a red
or white cellphone strap. Coupled with the GBA SP FFT
bundle, we're pondering the start-up costs for opening a
7-11 in Japan and getting in on all the special deals that
are exclusive to this chain of convenience stores. That, and
the joy of peddling crunchy snack foods laden with salt or
sugar to the masses. |

Finally, ASCII/Sammy will
reproduce the Gamecube keyboard on March 20, 2003.
