NEWS: Final Fantasy XI: Girade no Genei
   Preorders for the PS2 (Y3980) and PC versions of the FFXI expansion disk dubbed Girade no Genei (Vision of Jirat) are welcome starting today. Shipping on April 17, NCS expects pricing for the PS2 version at US$45 while tentative pricing for the PC is set at US$49. Square has not confirmed PC retail yet. With the FFXI expansion disk, new lands are opened up for exploration in Vana'diel including Ifrit's Cauldron (a volcanic area) and Yutunga Forest. A mass of new items in the expansion add to the variety of tools and objects in the game. Players may choose new career paths such as summoner, knight or even ninja to earn their wages.
 
NEWS: General Updates
   .hack ships for the PS2 [USA] this week along with Vexx. Looking ahead, Xenosaga [USA] ships on February 26, 2003.
   There's been a spate of inquiries for PS2 Rez + Trance Vibrator in recent weeks. We were puzzled but some of those making inquiries were kind enough to explain the newfound interest (hint: Vibrator) in the game. We thought this Ebay auction was interesting. There was a time when we were woefully stuck with surplus copies of Rez + TV and figured we would never get rid of them... In this case, retrospect is a curse.
   Freeloader v1.06B is now sold out but NCS expects restock in a few days. After a weekend of testing, we are able to confirm compatibility with all Japanese/USA games in our library on either USA or JPN Gamecube consoles. Although we have not tested a PAL game on an NTSC console yet, customers in the UK have reported success with current games. By default, it's fairly certain that all older software will work also.
   NCS expects the Gamecube Action Replay (which integrates Freeloader with Datel's cheat code product) next week at a price of US$33. The Action Replay also includes a standard GC memory card housed in the AR dongle for code storage.
