Chaos Legion

PS2

  Chaos Legion  JPN version

ORDER

Sieg Warheit, a member of the elite Knights of the Black Seal is sent on a mission to stop his old friend Victor Delacroix who has joined a mysterious cult with demonic powers. The cult seeks lofty domination which puts the sanctity of the world in peril and Sieg dashes off to stop the marauding hordes. Boasting fast paced action and moody stylized environments to roam in, Chaos Legion offers simple moves and rote action in the first level. Stick with Sieg however and his moves graduate to combination attacks and the use of legions. Summon these legions and they help our hero attack armies of foes en masse or assist Sieg by empowering him with special attacks.

Players may choose Sieg or Arcia. Seen here, the mini-skirted battler dances atop the corpse of a recent kill. Her weapons consist of a pair of pistols which she complements with her fighting moves.

Rockman EXE Transmission

GC

  Rockman EXE Transmission  JPN version

ORDER

Diverging only slightly from the style of the GBA Rockman EXE games, Arika culls the basic premise from those earlier games and expands on the action and world now found on the Gamecube. For much of the game, hero-boy runs across the screen and blasts foes with his trusty Rockbuster while leaping and dodging oncoming fire. For a little more offensive power, Battle chips may be equipped which serve out different types of hurt. A real world counterpart has been added to complement the Net universe but players generally still look out for viruses and battle them. Cel-shaded graphics provide a bright and different view of Rockman but it all works well thanks to Arika's execution.

Crisp cut-scenes seamlessly integrated with the cel-shaded action add to the fluid motion of the game. Players control Rockman but receive help from a number of characters in the game.

Kubrick Bounty Hunters

TOYS

Kubrick Star Wars Open Type Series 1

PREORDER

With Star Wars still a formidable franchising force in the Japanese and American toy markets, Medicom has announced a new set of Star Wars figures shipping in April 2003. The "Open Type Series" features certain groups of Star Wars characters that are collected in each particular release. Series 1 features the bounty hunters of the SW universe and in the photo to the left, they are: Dengar, IG88 (the imperial assassin droid), Boba Fett, Bossk, 4-Lom and Zuckuss. Each figure measures 6cm tall and every bounty hunter hefts a blaster rifle by his side. Missing from this select coterie of killers are Greedo, Zam Wessel and a few others but perhaps they'll appear in a future series. Pricing is expected to settle at US$35 per set of six figures.
