Update July 22 at 10:29AM EST - Setting up redundant servers
   NCS is currently working on building a couple of servers to provide redundancy for our new shopping site. As such, we rehash Monday's update below. The new shopping site should be up and accepting orders again by Wednesday-Thursday. We'll have two colo-servers providing backup to the main shop server within a few days for uninterrupted service, automatic redirect, etc.
 

  NEWS Terminator 3 Candy Toys
   Arnold hurtles back in time once again in the incarnation of an old-school-style T-850 and takes his share of knocks, scrapes and domination from the mighty T-X model. Yamato joins the T3 toy convoy with a collection of six candy toys featuring two T-850 figures, three T-X variants and a T1-8 robot. Released in Hong Kong last week but shipping in Japan next month, the T3 toys from Yamato are expected to be priced at US$5 each but sold in randomly packaged boxes.

 
 
 

  NEWS Import Preorder Updates
   An assortment of import software and toys are on offer starting today. Of particular interest is the Kenshin Dragon Quest Tomikaerishi Densetsu no Tsurugi television game which uses the XaviX processor from Shinsedai Co. Stateside players have experienced XaviX technology under the Play TV line of television games from Radica such as Play TV Snowboard, Play TV Baseball, Play TV Soccer and others. In Baseball, for example, players swing a bat in front of a television and the Xavix-based game unit registers each swing and deems a hit or miss based on the pitch location at the time of the swing.
   Kenshin DQ includes a toy sword which serves as a wireless controller, a game unit shaped in the form of a shield or breastplate of sorts, a memory card and a composite video cable. In the game, players travel the land of Dragon Quest and battle lovable DQ monsters by swinging a sword. Smite a furry beast on the money and it'll take massive damage. Miss and swing at air, and you'll face fangs or worse upon your hapless person.

   Another large assortment of imports are slated for the week, possibly to offset a dearth of quality releases in other Japanese media-based markets this summer. Most import shipments are slated for Wednesday-Thursday and preorders will ship upon arrival.
