Chain Dive

   In an apocalyptic vision where structures crumble randomly and dark colors permeate, the world of Chain Dive is a sobering 3-D view into an alternate reality. Armored warriors with impressive weaponry and winged insects which flutter and attack are the main actors in this dystopia. Similar to a Sith, the protagonist in Chain Dive wields an energy weapon of sorts that he grasps in the center and spins around for versatile attacks. Pressing the R2 button shoots out a green grappling hook which latches onto green orbs which are dotted throughout the 20 levels in the game. Since many green orbs are normally lined up in sequence throughout parts of a level, one may swing continuously from one area to the other by swinging to and fro. The trajectory of your swing may be directed by maneuvering the D-pad or left DS thumb stick. Other relevant buttons: "X" button for jump - press it again for a double jump, "Π" activates an ice strike - press continuously for a whirring fan move where oncoming shots are reflected back at foes and "Δ" blows out an ice kamikaze attack where everything in your general radius is frozen. Once an enemy is frozen, the grappling hook may be used to latch onto it for breaking. Chain combos where multiple enemies are frozen and then smashed with ricocheting dervish action is one objective players may aim for. Although most of the action takes place in the air, ground attacks also factor in the game.
 
 

Atsumare! Made in Wario

  GC Atsumare! Made in Wario in stock and shipping today 

   With a massive assortment of micro games which span a few seconds each, the Gamecube version of Made in Wario follows the Gameboy Advance version closely...well, identically to the original. While fans of the GBA game won't find anything new, the 4-player option may bring together friends for micro game madness. Genres explored in MIW include racing, platform, shooting and puzzle which are all shot out at the player in rapid fire succession. Quick reflexes are generally required but pattern recognition also helps the hapless.
   We're presold out of the game as of this morning but we expect restock within the next few days.

  OST Shikigami no Shiro 2 in stock and shipping today 

   Anxious shooter fans antsy for the release of Shikigami no Shiro 2 on Gamecube may at least preview the music from the game this week. Alfa System shipped the original soundtrack to market a few days ago and preorders will ship today. The CD runs for 68 minutes over 25 tracks named "Theme of Shikigami," "Whirlwind," "Chaos," "Abyss" and many other one-word titles. The package also includes a booklet and trading card which features the cast of the game.
 
 

  PS Front Mission History Preorder

   Yesterday, we opened up preorders for the Front Mission History box set. Today, we post a photo of the three Wanzers that are included in the bundle. Each Wanzer is mounted on a rocky pedestal which interlocks with the other pedestals to create a craggy diorama of sorts.
