   The first batch of imports slated for early next year were opened up late last week and the pickings are surprisingly substantial. They're coming on the heels of the holiday season when the bulk of sales are made. World Images Play appears to be another collection of models in skimpy swimsuits.

   We have no plans on stocking any of the Celebrities Bust candy toys from Japanese manufacturer F-Toys but they're somewhat interesting to view...

   From left to right, Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt and Joseph Stalin preside over the Yalta (Crimea) Conference which took place between Feb. 4-11, 1945. The heads (sorry) of the United Kingdom, United States and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics gathered together to discuss Europe's postwar development. The likenesses are rather good but we'd find it most difficult to sell any of these, even at $3.00 a pop.

   Thanks to readers, the classical/romantic composers are Beethooven, Schubert and Chopin from left to right. Were it not for the "Classical Composers Romanticism" title, we'd guess that these were Victorian Vampires. Again, hard sells but they may hold some sway over some Goth crowds.

   Mona Lisa with her enigmatic smile translates poorly from painting to plastic but the likeness is passable. Van Gogh's bust shows the artist with red facial hair...which may be mistaken for flecks of blood and Boticelli's Venus looks out more with pained expression than the radiance of a newly born goddess.
