Playstation 2 Console Variants

Since the tri-color PS2 spring bloom of 2003, color variants
have been scarce. Aqua, Sakura and Silver were pretty colors
to bring in the spring and buyers ate them up. But that was
then. Sure, we were treated to a midnight blue PS2 a few
months ago but since then, nada. That changes come December
4, 2003 when Sony boots two new color consoles onto the
market to end the drought.
The first is a
Ceramic White SCPH-55000 model which includes a copy
of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue and a matching joypad. Sony also
plans to sell additional ceramic white joypads, memory cards
and a vertical stand on December 4. Pricing is set at Y22000
for the white PS2 package and we'll post details on the
separate hardware items once we have more details.
Next up, Sony commemorates the release of Mobile Suit Z Gundam AEUG
vs Titans with a
PS2 console which seemingly shimmers with
shiny gold patina. Along with the SCPH-55000 bling, Sony
packs a copy of the upcoming Gundam AEUG vs Titans game, a
special Universal Century vertical stand designed by Ogawara
Kunio, two gold Dual Shock 2 joypads, a dark-blue Gundam
memory card and the usual connector cables. Pricing in Japan
stands at Y35000.
Preorders are welcome starting today for delivery on December 4.
Due to the poor condition of the dollar against the yen and
shipping costs for heavy PS2 hardware, NCS has priced the
two PS2 bundles accordingly. |
