PS2 Color Variants

NEWS Playstation 2 Console Variants Preorder

Since the tri-color PS2 spring bloom of 2003, color variants have been scarce. Aqua, Sakura and Silver were pretty colors to bring in the spring and buyers ate them up. But that was then. Sure, we were treated to a midnight blue PS2 a few months ago but since then, nada. That changes come December 4, 2003 when Sony boots two new color consoles onto the market to end the drought.
The first is a Ceramic White SCPH-55000 model which includes a copy of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue and a matching joypad. Sony also plans to sell additional ceramic white joypads, memory cards and a vertical stand on December 4. Pricing is set at Y22000 for the white PS2 package and we'll post details on the separate hardware items once we have more details.
Next up, Sony commemorates the release of Mobile Suit Z Gundam AEUG vs Titans with a PS2 console which seemingly shimmers with shiny gold patina. Along with the SCPH-55000 bling, Sony packs a copy of the upcoming Gundam AEUG vs Titans game, a special Universal Century vertical stand designed by Ogawara Kunio, two gold Dual Shock 2 joypads, a dark-blue Gundam memory card and the usual connector cables. Pricing in Japan stands at Y35000.
Preorders are welcome starting today for delivery on December 4. Due to the poor condition of the dollar against the yen and shipping costs for heavy PS2 hardware, NCS has priced the two PS2 bundles accordingly.

Cloud Trading Arts Figure

  NEWS Toy Updates

Square Enix recently announced a new set of toys based on various Final Fantasy characters called "FF Trading Arts figures." Six Final Fantasy characters and a secret figure will be randomly packaged into the candy toy cardboard containers: Cloud, Lulu, Rinoa, Sephiroth, Vivi, and Yuna. Each figure measures approximately 5-8cm with Vivi representing the wee folk. Shipping is expected in March 2004 at Y680 per randomly packaged figure.

Unifive announced a set of 7 mecha figures based on the popular Super Robot Wars series. Dubbed "Original Collection Figure 2," the randomly packed warriors ship in February 04, 2004 at approximately US$3.75 each.

Naruto Action Figures

  TOYS Two More from Yesterday

Ninjas in training are transported from the worlds of manga and anime to the physical realm of plastic...and adorned with articulated limbs. Each figure measures roughly 5" tall and the scroll included with each figure measures approximately 6 x 8" when unfurled. The scroll contains character artwork of the individual character that its included with.
Each cardboard backed blister package also includes three extra hands, an extra head, scrolls, weapons and other little plastic trinkets. In the photo, Kakashi is located on the left and Sasuke stands on the right. Due to a shipping error, we did not receive Naruto but we'll update once we get that straightened out. Backs of both toys may be viewed: Kakashi and Sasuke.
Six gashapon gals from Namco's past and recent history are collected into one collection of capsule toys. Each girl requires a bit of assembly before she's able to stand tall upon her disc pedestal but handy constructers will be done in no time. The video game gals featured include Valkyrie from Legend of the Valkyrie, a girl athlete from Mach Breakers, Ki from Return of Ishtar and Soul Calibur's Ivy and Cassandra Alexandra. One girl we're not too certain about looks sort of like Chai Xianghua from SCalibur but then again...
