DC Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate - Shipping Feb. 26, 2004

The arcade version of Psyvariar 2 was released on November 7, 2003 and it was good. The buzz system returned for mass bonus points and familiar vertical shooting action gave shmup fans another adrenaline rush, especially when scads of shots spewed out from sputtering bosses. Those shots may seem nigh impermeable but that's where the beauty of the buzz system shines where hundreds of near nicks and cuts against your ship grant buzz bonuses and bump up firing power. There's a reason why there are 9 digits in the score holder...for billions of points to accumulate and amass. A pair of Medium Drive Suits (read: mecha) driven by a male and female character are selectable at the outset of the game - the MDS Five Ascetics and the MDS Maitreya. New to the Psyvariar series is the "Rolling Input System" where the mechs "roll" in the direction that the joystick is pointed in continuous fashion and special attacks may be blasted out by morphing the mechs.
Nary a month since release however, Success has announced plans for DC and PS2 versions of the game - with the DC version taking the lead for release on February 26, 2003. Arcade operators in Japan may curse the company for announcing so early but fans will appreciate the sudden love.
Preorders are open today for a regular edition of Psyvariar 2 at Y5800 or US$58 from NCS. Please note that a limited edition has not been announced but we'll update accordingly if a special bundle of some sort is offered.

NEWS PSX Solicitors - Shipping December 13, 2003

A few brave suppliers have started soliciting preorders for Sony's PSX machine which ships on December 13 in Japan only. A 160-gigabyte model is priced at Y79800 (US$728.83) and a 250-gig brother is priced at Y99800 (US$911.50). Essentially a fusion of PS2 console hardware and a DVD-recorder, the PSX serves as the centerpiece of a home entertainment system with the ability to play games, movies and burn/record new content from television. A USB 2.0 port, memory stick reader and Ethernet adapter assure users of data portability to other devices and future expandability.
NCS has no plans on stocking this device in our general inventory but special orders from customers are welcome. Please note pricing as follows:
*
DESR-5000 160-gig version - US$820 + shipping.
*
DESR-7000 250-gig version - US$1010 + shipping.
Orders must be prepaid by credit card, wire transfer or bank cheque. Please email ncsx@msn.com if you are interested and wish to arrange a preorder.

  NEWS General Updates

There are a few delayed packages (games, toys, etc) from last week that have still not shown up as of this morning. We'll contact customers who are affected by the late deliveries today but we're on the horn with UPS to determine when we'll get to see the missing shipments.
The Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary Mook will arrive within the next few days. There's also a PS2 product called MC Kenshin Dragon Quest Bouken that we listed last week which is also in shipping limbo somewhere but we'll post an update as to what exactly this thing is once it arrives.
