The
DDR Party Collection bundle includes an official dancing
controller, a copy of DDR Party Collection and a nicely
decorated bucket container to hold everything within its
confines.
Every once in
a while, between major releases of various Bemani games, Konami
issues a version which contains songs that would fit under a
"Best Hits" banner. Dance Dance Revolution Party Collection
would be 2003's Best Hits version of DDR. An easy going game and
a great compilation of songs are Party's highlights. Some new
songs - Wannabe and Freedom - join a great playlist as well as a
fierce rendition of Paranoia.
The gist in
all Dance Dance Revolution games is this: Arrows rush up the
screen and hit a target marker, upon which time one must step to
the left, right, up, down or perform a combination move. Perform
well and you'll receive bondafides but dance poorly and you'll
eventually get the gong. Game over.
Game
modes include:
Beginner Mode -
Start at baby level and progressively graduate to higher levels
Lesson Mode -
Newbies apply here to learn the ways of rhythm
Training Mode -
Practice a lot before your run at Oni Mode
Oni Mode - Dance
as perfectly as possible through a nonstop set of songs.
Nonstop Mode - A
number of song courses are thrown at the player but a few
mistakes are acceptable.
