   Sega revived Shinobi and created Kunoichi in the interest of reawakening ninja awareness... or maybe ninjas are a just a powerful vehicle to sell games. Sleek, shadowy and silent, ninjas are visually enticing and make perfect action heroes on the virtual stage. Shurikens, bokken, swords and more are at the ninja's disposal to dispatch natural and preternatural foes...
   Tecmo helps the ninja cause in a couple of months when the Xbox exclusive Ninja Gaiden ships to market. Ever since Tecmo's promotional offer (Buy Ninja Gaiden in Japan, get a bonus Ayane figure) was announced last week, we've received more inquiries on the figure than the game itself but that's to be expected.

   We'll be able to offer the Ayane figure with NG preorders but please note that we expect to receive a 3/4 allocation. This means that for every four copies of the game, we will only receive 3 Ayane figures - so some of our preorders will miss out on the bonus. Early preorders will receive the bonus but we won't be able to guarantee that preorders received on say, February 25, 2004 at 11:59PM or thereabouts will receive the figure as well. Of course, this is just an estimate from suppliers - we may very well receive a 1/1 allocation if distributors are given an even supply of game/Ayane. Pricing for the game is set at Y7800 or US$75 from NCS.

   Inuyasha, Sesshaohmaru, Kagome and the rest of the crew are molded, painted and imbued with that special spirit that makes quality gashapon toys shine with verve and gritty demeanor. Inuyasha puts on a fierce fighting face while Kagome's countenance conveys determination as she pulls back on an arrow. Shippou bares pointy fangs but that's just Shippou.
   Each figure measures approximately 2" tall and are fully assembled in their capsule containers. Seven types are included in the collection and NCS will pore through the massive bags of toys when they arrive to assemble them in complete sets. Preorders are welcome today at US$16/set.

   Two items that we didn't list yesterday have been added below - the Hardcover Advance SP for GBA and Growlanser Collection for the PS2. No new shipments arrived today but we're expecting bulky boxes tomorrow and we'll post an update once everything arrives.
   Donkey Konga, Naruto Gekitou Ninja 2 and some other in-demand products will be restocked on Friday.
