   Relive the days of Street Fighter tourneys, dizzy effects, redizzies and experience once again, the depth of the old school SF games sans the rolls of quarters, cigarette smoke, surly challengers and other hazards of the olden arcades. Similar to the gaming scheme found in Vampire Chronicle for Dreamcast, Capcom reaches back in time and gathers together all of the World Warriors found in various versions and iterations of Street Fighter II into one comprehensive fighting game. It's a veritable Street Fighter melting pot with a bunch of bonus material to boot. 

   For example, one may select an original fighter from Street Fighter II (1991) and pit it against a stronger Ryu, Chun-Li or Ken from Super Street Fighter II Turbo to determine rank. The character versions represented include the original Street Fighter II World Warriors (1991), Champion Edition (1992), Turbo (1992), Super Street Fighter II (1993) and Super Street Fighter II Turbo (1994) which break down into five possible versions of each character as follows: World Warrior (Normal), Dash, Turbo, Super, and Super X. The speed of the game is selectable and may be toggled between four levels of turbo speed.

   A gallery mode on the Hyper SF2 DVD includes character artwork, opening and closing animations and the complete Japanese Street Fighter interactive animated movie which was released on the Saturn and Playstation (on two CD disks) back in the day. The quality of the movie is of higher quality than the MPEG1 Video-CD format found in the originals.

   Fanatics of the game will undoubtedly opt for the limited edition of Hyper Street Fighter which includes the following bonus items in a big bundle:

° Strategy DVD which showcases special moves, combo attacks and tricks
° 96-page booklet which contains history, artwork, background information
° Mobile phone strap with Street Fighter anniversary trinket
° Mouse pad decorated with Street Fighter anniversary artwork

  NEWS Playstation 2 March 2004 Import Schedule

   We expected it a bit quicker but Samurai Spirits Zero has been confirmed for the PS2 to ship on March 18, 2004. It'll be a double punch day since King of Fighters 2002 has also been confirmed for the PS2 on March 18.

   Other notables shipping in March include Super Robot Wars MX, Derby Stallion 2004 and Dragon Quest V Remake. Of course, the three new Sega Ages remakes should also do very well based on the popularity of the series thus far. The full list follows...
