Seven Samurai 20XX
One lone import is
expected on Wednesday of this week. Sammy tries their hand at a 3-D hack 'n
slasher in the style of other games of recent note. The reference to the Seven
Samurai movie is puzzling, especially since the film was a thoughtful and
dramatic piece that examined the interplay between villagers, ronin and bandits.
The game is all hack. Slash. Repeat. Akira Kurosawa's son is linked to the
project but that's like saying Picasso's daughter painted something... like
Beethoven's nephew composed a ditty... like Frank Perdue's nephew sold some
chicken... oh wait.
In any case, blood ties do not necessarily connote or confer
genius. We're more interested in checking out the artwork by Moebius and the
music that was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto. Preorders will ship on Jan. 07.
