Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪
On a small island,
located somewhere across the sea, there lives a young girl named Marone. Gifted
with the ability to control phantoms, Marone earns her bread and butter by
accepting missions from clients who contact her by way of bottled messages. Upon
receiving a request for help, Marone gathers together a cadre of phantoms and
the group stalks out on battles and scenarios to make their money.
Phantom Brave bears similarities to Disgaea and there's good reason
for that - illustrator Takehito Harada returns as character designer with his
cel-shade-like renderings and the gaming genre is pure tactical strategy.
The movement phase in Phantom Brave does not rely on grids any longer and party
members are free to roam the landscape within a certain boundary per move.
Battles are also evolved from Disgaea where character with higher agility levels
are able to act as the vanguard of a group and attack before those with lower
agility. Since Marone's crew consists of ephemeral phantoms, they cannot attack
enemies directly. Rather, the phantoms possess inanimate objects, weapons and
other battlefield remnants in order to wield them with spiritual force. A
limited edition of Phantom Brave is also in stock which contains an art booklet
and a music CD along with the game.
