NCS Game Synopsis
©NCSX▪ Sometime in the future, say around the year 2176, a distant star named Beta Hydris goes supernova. The burst of radiation equivalent to octillions of nuclear warheads from the dying star spreads throughout space in a terrible blast wave which wreaks havoc on the life systems of planets in its path. The Earth falls victim and her ecosystem is unbalanced in a twinkling. The majority of life is wiped out but human survivors rebuild and rise up from the devastation that is called "The First Wave." Mankind spreads out into space and builds a quintet of gigantic space stations which are designed to generate a force field which will blunt the impact of "The Second Wave" which consists of slower moving ejecta and remnants of the supernova.

The year 2356 rolls around and the second storm is on schedule. Enter space cadet Katase Shima who travels to the Stellvia space station for her studies. Although Katase and her classmates are not properly trained for the "Great Mission" of shielding mother Earth from the Second Wave, they are being prepared for the exploration of space, dubbed the Genesis Mission, that will occur after the storm has passed. The gameplay consists primarily of interaction with classmates, training scenarios and even a 3-D mini-game which apparently tests spatial reference ability for up 'n coming pilots in the Stellvia universe.
