Heroes and villains
from the WWE come together once again for another battle royale where the
operative phrases are "Smack Down," "Ready to Rumble," and "Shut Your Mouth." Or
something like that. Although WWE Smackdown was released nearly a year ago, the
Japanese version saw less urgency, especially since Japanese wrestling fans are
generally more into puroresu and the local fare. Fifty five personalities are
featured in EPW5 including such bruisers as Chris Jericho, Nikolai Volkoff,
Goldberg, Big Show, Scott Steiner, Brock Lesnar, and many more. The entire clan
McMahon from Vince to Stephanie also pull their weight inside the ring.
New to the series is a story mode scripted by WWE writers which
take each superstar on a path of retribution, vengeance and other dramas that
only the world of wrestling could contrive. Flashy presentation, versatile
cameras and the roar of the crowd all help to bring the excitement of WWE
wrestling to the PS2.
The first production limited edition of EPW5 includes a bonus WWE
special edition DVD which checks out wrestling matches, mirth and macho men from
Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment. The next big thing from the WWE,
Brock Lesnar, is given good coverage in the DVD. |
