The XSelect-D4 provides
an all-in-one box for controlling five separate input signals (D-Terminal,
Component RGB, and 21-pin analog RGB) from your PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, DVD-Player
and any other video device. Five separate audio inputs are also available on the
unit to accept standard RCA audio jacks. One VGA output jack connects the
XSelect to any VGA compatible monitor and output audio jack connects to your
audio equipment.
Similar to the XRGB-2+, the menu is in English and the unit is
fairly simple to operate. The five available inputs are as follows:
Rear of the Unit:
Input #1: Component RGB and D-Terminal (525i~750p) and Audio Jacks
Input #2: Component RGB and D-Terminal (525i~750p) and Audio Jacks
Input #3: RGB and D-Terminal (525i~750p) and Audio Jacks
Front of the Unit:
Input #4: D-Terminal (525i~1125i) and Audio Jacks (L and R)
Input #5: 21-Pin RGB Multi-port (RGB/Component 525i~1125i)
The output jack of the unit is located directly below Input 3 and
consists of a VGA output jack, a D-Terminal output jack and Left and Right audio
jacks. Controls on the front of the unit include the Power button on the
left, five Input buttons which span the top-front of the unit and Menu,
Ratio, and Status buttons below them. LED panels on the front of
the unit light up when Progressive Scan is active and an Input LED lists which
input is currently active.
The build quality is solid and simple with two shells which make up
the outside of the case and a back panel which is sandwiched against the grooves
on the two shells. A cleanly laid-out pcboard appears easy to repair should the
need arise with the video port fuses easy to discern from everything else. The
unit also doesn't creak...which is always a plus. |
