PLEASE READ: The NEW SHOP is separate and distinct from the OLD SHOP. If you place an order on the OLD SHOP, you will not be able to use the NEW SHOP to check on your order and vice versa. Unfortunately, we were not able to resolve the two shop databases in order to transfer customer histories and accounts. Both shops are fully operational and capable of taking orders.

Fire Red, Leaf Green GBA SPs

GBA Fire Red and Leaf Green GBA SPs - Shipped as of Feb. 28

Nintendo started shipping a pair of new GBA SP units based on Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green. For the Fire Red version, a stenciled Charizard appears on the top lid and on the left corner inside the unit. Venusaur serves as front man for the Leaf Green variant. Both units are sold only through Pokemon Centers in Japan but NCS expects some supply later this week.

Scene from Lost in Translation

PS2 Taiko no Tatsujin Special Pack - Shipping March 25

Namco has announced a new Taiko no Tatsujin Collection which gathers together all four PS2 TnT games into one convenient bundle. The games are:

1) Taiko no Tatsujin
2) Taiko no Tatsujin 2: Doki! Shinkyoku Darakei Harumatsuri
3) Taiko no Tatsujin 3: Appare Sandame
4) Taiko no Tatsujin 4: Waku Waku Anime Matsuri

Pricing is set at Y6980. A Tatacon-included version was not announced but perhaps they'll consider a package in the next week or two. Namco has done very well with Taiko no Tatsujin and any Tatacon stock that is manufactured would sell. Period. Preorders are welcome starting today to ship on March 25, 2004. In case you're curious, the Taiko no Tatsujin scene shown to the left occurs approximately 35 minutes into the movie Lost in Translation (2003).

Pia Girls

TOYS Welcome to Pia Carrot Figures - Shipping May 2004

Patrons who frequent the Pia Carrot mini-chain of restaurants are treated to decent food, comfortable seating, and buxom waitresses who are dedicated to their jobs. Starting life in video games but making the transition to animation and mass merchandising, Pia Carrot enjoys a fairly large fan following in Japan and a good amount of devotees in the States.
A few months ago, we opened up preorders for a Pia Carrot China Dress figure in kit form which required assembly. A few days ago, the pre-assembled version of the China Dress figure was opened for preorders along with a pre-assembled Pia Carrot Swimsuit figure which both ship in May 2004. On the top, Sayaka Takai frees herself from the Pia uniform and drapes herself in a swimsuit. On the bottom, Kinosita Takako hefts a bamboo steamer full of dim sum whilst lying on the ground. Both figures are pre-painted, fully assembled and ready for immediate display.

Falcom Chains

TOYS Falcom Keychains and Figures - Shipping August 2004

Aruze announced two products based on the famous Falcom line-up of video games. First up, five keychains designed with the names of classics such as Ys, Dragon Slayer, Sorcerian and Xanadu ship in August 2004. Next up, miniature figures upon pedestals which are based on heroines from Falcom games ship in September. Only conceptual art has been given out so far but the figures shown to the right are pretty much what the final product will look like.

Capcom Capsule Toys

TOYS Capcom All Stars R Capsule Toys - Shipping June 2004

The festivities for Street Fighter's 15th Anniversary and Rockman's own 15th concluded last year but the two franchises are called to arms upon once again when a new gashapon collection from manufacturer Bandai ships in June.

As is common when preorders are taken so far in advance, only conceptual artwork has been included with preorder solicitations but we're assuming that the figures should be similar in quality to previous Capcom based works. We recognize Rainbow Mika from Street Fighter on the upper left and Hayato from Star Gladiator stands next to her. Vampire constituents featured are Lei Lei and J. Talbain while Street Fighters in attendance include Ryu and Dhalsim while Hinata from Rival Schools stands next to Ryu. Rockman stands alone but we're guessing Zero might be another character in the collection. Ten types are shown but a total of twenty characters will appear in the final production.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC

NEWS Import Outlook - Shipping Wednesday-Thursday

New import releases take a breather from the torrid pace of last week but there's some good ones on the way. We're partial to the new Ghost in the Shell game and somewhat curious about what Diet Channel has in store for Bemani adherents in search of exercise simulators. Konami includes a dancing controller with each copy of Diet Channel to get newbies on their way.
