PLEASE READ: The NEW SHOP is separate and distinct from the OLD SHOP. If you place an order on the OLD SHOP, you will not be able to use the NEW SHOP to check on your order and vice versa. Unfortunately, we were not able to resolve the two shop databases in order to transfer customer histories and accounts. Both shops are fully operational and capable of taking orders.

Pukupuku Tennen Kairanban Koi no Cupid Daisakusen

GBA Pukupuku Tennen Kairanban: Koi no Cupid Daisakusen

Pukupuku was originally serialized in Ciao, a manga collection from Shogakukan. Dogs, cats and other representatives of the animal kingdom speak Japanese and make up the bulk of the characters in the manga and the game. Players take control of Pukupuku, a floppy-eared dog with a gang of feline friends, rodents and even birds. Being such a social hub, Pukupuku is given the task of hooking up friends and finding a little love for himself.
Whereas the original Pukupuku only contained four main scenarios, the sequel contains six and mixes up the action with an ever-changing game environment which hinges on one's actions in previous episodes. When Pukupuku's not playing matchmaker, mini-games may be enojoyed such as a rudimentary rhythm challenge where a menagerie plays in a band while Pukupuku conducts.

Akachan Doubutsuen: Doubutsu no Akachan Shiikugakarii Ikusei Game

Panda finger puppet

  GBA Akachan Dobutsuen

Japanese lesson of the day - Akachan means baby, Dobutsuen means zoo. Put them together and you have Baby Animal Zoo. Take control of an Arle (she of Puyo fame) look-alike who works as an animal trainer in training at a zoo that caters to baby animals. Over 40 types of beasts may be raised including koalas, elephants, giraffes, polar bears, pandas and even tigers. Over a period of two years, raise up to 8 different animals from baby stage to adulthood and earn the adulation of zoo visitors everywhere. A picture album of animals may be unlocked by successfully rearing creatures.

No animal raising game would be complete without a bevy of mini-games and Akachan offers a few exercises including guiding an animal through a maze to get food, peeling vegetables, catching balls, cleaning up cages and many others for a total of 12 possible diversions. All preorders will include the panda finger puppet shown to the left. Unfortunately, we won't have any extra puppets for new orders placed today.

Shaman King Funbari Spirits

  PS2 Shaman King: Funbari Spirits

Every five centuries, a tournament is held amongst shamans to determine rank and pecking order. As with all grand contests, dramatics and raw aggression are laid out in fierce dramatic interludes and fighting action. Take control of Yoh Asakura and his spirit champion Amidamaru or any other contestant and use spirit powers along with physical skill to best all opponents in your bid to become Shaman King. Funbari Spirits is played in 2-D fighting style but with animated cut scenes and button mashing sequences at critical moments. Along with the combat action, mini-games are also playable.
A training mode allows for practice runs before the actual tournament and the entire voice cast from the animation contributes their vocal stylings.

  ETC Scrap Heap Scramble: Reloaded

Digging deeper yields even more wrecked consoles from yesteryear. The consoles shown below are all broken to some extent but we have posted descriptions of each item. Please read them before purchasing.
Like the lots from yesterday, we're offering the consoles for use as parts only. Handy technical types may be able to get them working again with the proper tweaking, handiwork or components. The two PS2 consoles are SCPH-10000 consoles which we remember were imported DOA. We sold them to two customers...and they were returned for replacement. We're guessing video fuse damage but we can't guarantee that's the exact problem. The lasers, powerboards, fans, controller blocks, cables, etc inside the PS2s should be fine and probably worth the price alone. The Neo-CDZ was tested this morning and it works...but it was in olde warehouse storage which usually means there's something wrong with it. We played Last Resort and Football Frenzy for 30 minutes each and the games boot fine, play great, etc. There's also a language switch on the back of the CDZ which is functional.

Famimaga 64 May 98
101 pages, Very Good condition

  MOTD Famimaga 64 - May 1998

SOLDOUT
In the news section of Famimaga 64, a photo of the Gameboy with Indiglo backlight is shown. Back then, the portable gaming arena was dominated by the black & white Gameboy and the indiglo unit gave fans a little excitment as well as a solution for sore eyes. Later in the issue, under the Preview Section, a photo of the gold and silver GBs is offered. The units were released on April 14, 1998 at Y6800 and we recall very good sales at about US$75 each.

The news also includes a sneak peek of the Nintendo 64 DD unit and Zelda Ocarina of Time. The first game featured is Powerful Pro Baseball 5 at the dear price of Y7800. Konami must have provided a lot of information because the coverage is mook-like at 20 pages with copious amounts of screenshots, gameplay tips, and management primers. Later on in the magazine, there's another 5-page black & white article on Powerful Pro 5 which is followed by some information on Ozumo 64. A feature on Quest 64 is scads shorter at only 4 pages with some gameplay and adventuring tips. Coverblob Kirby is featured in a review of Super Famicom Hoshi no Kirby 3 where the pink marshmallow takes new forms in a 2-D platform game. The coverage also checks out the creatures that Kirby meets throughout the game.

Previews in the issue include Zelda 64 Ocarina of Time, F-Zero X, Banjo Kazooie, and Yoshi's Story. Towards the end of the issue, there's a colorful bunch of previews on Starfox 64, Choro Q 64, and Super Robot Wars Spirits, A one-page article on the Pocket Pikachu pedometer game shows the unit as it hangs on a belt and virtual Pikachu as it showers, sleeps, baths, and watches the telly. A 2-page article on the Pocket Camera shows off a few examples of the blurry photos the camera is capable of taking.

Ads in the magazine include Eternal Wings: Let's Go!, Snobow Kids, Bomberman Hero, Ozumo 64 and only a few others. Barely enough to support the editors, writers, photographers... As is common in many Japanese magazines, a 4-page fan art section features submissions from readers which invariably feature RPG heroines and other leading lady archetypes

NCS prices each issue at US$5.50 which includes shipping with USPS Media Mail within the USA.
