Two famous swordsmen from the Sengoku and Edo periods -
Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro - take part in the
mighty battle at Sekigahara circa September 15, 1600. A
bit of historical background - after Toyotomi Hideyoshi
died in 1998, a power struggle ensued between the Shiga
and Gifu prefectures and war broke out. According to
legend, Sasaki Kojiro challenged Musashi at Ganryu
island in 1612. Since Kojiro's sword had a lengthier
reach, Musashi battled using an oar from his boat and
killed Kojiro.
The Gassen Sekigahara game plays very much like a Dynasty Warriors
clone where legions of troops are battled in vast
environments.
Sekigahara
uses a Tates-like system where enemies may be attacked
in fluid sequence. A total of seven levels await the
gamer for some fairly exciting fun. |
