Since this unit came with everything we needed to power
it up and test, we tried it and it works. We played
Football Frenzy, Crossed Swords and played a music CD on
it. The control pads function, etc. The problem is the
drive clicks incessantly and the sound cuts out. After
about 10 minutes, when the unit has heated up
sufficiently however, the drive stops working entirely
and a Disk I/O error comes up when attempting to load a
disk. A skilled player may be able to repair or tune the
drive with a new motor to restore it to full health. The
unit may also be used for parts as a replacement pcboard,
powerboard, etc to an existing NeoCD console. Due to the
problem, we're pricing the unit at US$65 which includes
the console, power adapter, two control pads, AV cable
and instruction booklet. We'll pack everything inside
the box shown above. |
