PLEASE READ: The NEW SHOP is separate and distinct from the OLD SHOP. If you place an order on the OLD SHOP, you will not be able to use the NEW SHOP to check on your order and vice versa. Unfortunately, we were not able to resolve the two shop databases in order to transfer customer histories and accounts. Both shops are fully operational and capable of taking orders.

NEWS Xenosaga Episode II LE Preorders - Again?

Inexplicably, a number of distributors in Japan re-opened preorders for Xenosaga Episode II Premium Box overnight. Since we're leery of how the final allocation will turn out, we have submitted a 500 piece preorder. Even if we only get 1/3 of our reservation, we'll be able to fill at least ~165 preorders for the Premium Box. As such, we're re-opening preorders with the disclaimer that we may not be able to fill all preorders...but we'll try.  Xenosaga II Premium Bike

Playstation Magazine Vol. 17
110 pages, NM condition

MOTD Playstation Magazine Vol. 17, 1998

Today's issue of Playstation Magazine was originally released on September 3, 1998 and is graced with a very pretty cover inspired by Chocobo Dungeon 2. The issue is thin at 110 pages but as a sort of bonus, Tokuma Shoten also includes a 67-page supplement which catalogs a good number of Playstation game released thus far and breaks them down into categories. A short synopsis and at least one screenshot is posted for each title. Flipping thrugh the supplement, we revisit games such as the original Ridge Racer, the original Tekken and a number of other gems from yesteryear.

The first ad in the mag features another old codger sitting at a restaurant drinking tea while a poster of a Guncon-hefting, bikini-clad maiden hangs in the background. American advertising rarely uses aged individuals in mainstream print ads but there are no such qualms in Japan. Of course, to balance the age range, a young chippie in yellow bikini is thrown in the mix to lure in the all-important young-male audience.

An 8-page Chocobo Dungeon 2 preview contains lots of screenshots and artwork of characters in the game. Play mechanics between Chocobo and Mog are also shown. An 8-page Exodus Guilty preview examines the 4 main stories in the game and explains the background to the Demonic Rod and Holy Wand. Details on the eras and characters in the game are also exposed to generate interest. A Metal Gear Solid preview builds up anticipation with more info and large screenshots. A Tales of Phantasia article shows off screenshots and battle sequences.

A tactics article for SD Gundam G Generation also lists stats, cost, HP, EN, etc for every mech unit in the game over 4-pages of miniscule-type. The Support Technique section espouses hints for Brave Fencer Musashiden and Silhouette Mirage along with other games.

The fan art section shows 3 pages of artwork based on the games of the day such as Psychic Force, Vampire Saviour, and Xenogears. Super Buyer's Guide checks out many upcoming titles such as Blaze & Blade Busters, the original GTA (released on 8/27/98), MGS which earned two 10s, Legend of Heroes IV, and many others. Price: $6.50 shipped.
